BAKSOS HMD Sastra Jerman 2024 – Sharing Happiness with Putra Harapan Orphanage

HMD German Literature again carried out BAKSOS (Bakti Sosial/Social Service) as an annual program, a collaboration of the Social and Spirituality Division. This activity was successfully held on Sunday (5/26/24) at the Putra Harapan Asrori Orphanage, Sukun District, Malang City. In addition to distributing groceries, the committee also had games, knitting together, and impression & message sessions to develop the motoric and cognitive potential of the orphanage children.

The preparation for BAKSOS 2024 took about a month, although there were minor obstacles. “We originally planned the activity on Saturday, May 25, but we postponed it to Sunday due to miscommunication and clashes with other events at the orphanage. The only obstacle was the time,” said Natali, Chief Executive of BAKSOS 2024. In addition, a miscommunication between the committees was quickly resolved with improvisation.

The event was lively, with the children of the orphanage actively welcoming. German Literature HMD members found this activity exciting and moving because they could share happiness with the orphanage children. The primary purpose of this activity is to get to know the orphanage children, understand where they live, and introduce HMD German Literature. The Chairperson of HMD German Literature hopes this activity will comfort the committee and the orphans. Other organizers hope next year’s BAKSOS will be more successful because this activity is very positive and shows the importance of sharing.
