On Friday, March 22, 2024, the Department of English at the Faculty of Letters, Universitas Negeri Malang, welcomed esteemed guest speaker Dr. Willy A. Renandya from the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The main them of the guest lecture, titled “From Concept to Completion: Designing Effective Research in ELT,” unfolded at the vibrant Aula AVA, located on the 2nd Floor of D14 Building, Faculty of Letters, from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m.

Dr. Renandya, a renowned scholar in the field of English Language Teaching (ELT), captivated the audience with his profound insights and practical strategies for conducting impactful research in ELT. From formulating research questions to navigating the intricacies of data collection and analysis, Dr. Renandya shared invaluable tips and methodologies drawn from his extensive experience in the field. Attendees were inspired to embark on their own research journeys, equipped with a deeper understanding of the research process and its significance in advancing ELT practices.
The event also featured presentations from esteemed faculty members of the Department of English at Universitas Negeri Malang. Dr. Suharyadi and Dr. Maria Hidayati shared their expertise and perspectives, enriching the discourse on research methodologies and pedagogical approaches in ELT. Their contributions underscored the collaborative spirit and commitment to excellence within the department, further enhancing the learning experience for all attendees.
