HMD ARABIC LITERATURE FS UM HELD MAHROJAN ARABY AS A COMPETITION BETWEEN STUDENTS

Mahrojan Araby is an annual event organized by the Arabic Language Department Student Association (HMD) Faculty of Letters, State University of Malang. This year, we held a series of national and international competitions and international seminars. This event aims to answer the prospects and challenges of learning Arabic language and literature for non-native speakers in the digital era by appreciating the love of Arabic, realizing a means of sharing, exchanging knowledge, and adding insights about Arabic for learners, teachers, experts, and lovers.

The objectives of the implementation of Mahrojan Araby XVI activities are as follows: Improving the ability and potential of students in Arabic, Adding relationships between students in the internal and international realm, Becoming an evaluation medium for improving the quality of Arabic and its teaching, Preparing the younger generation in welcoming the world’s Arabic language. The benefits of Mahrojan Araby XVI activities are to increase cooperation between DBA students and lecturers, instill a healthy, creative, and innovative competitive spirit, improve the creations of DBA students in Arabic language competitions, and introduce the UM Arabic Language Department to the national to the international public. The targets of Mahrojan Araby XVI’s activities are active undergraduate students of domestic universities and undergraduate students of foreign universities. This activity is carried out virtually via Zoom Meetings.

Mahrojan Araby XVI HMJ Sastra Arab ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 16 Mei – 25 Juni 2022 secara daring/virtual via Zoom Meeting yang diikuti mahasiswa/i aktif S1 Perguruan Tinggi dalam negeri, dan mahasiswa/i aktif S1 Perguruan Tinggi luar negeri. Kegiatan ini merupakan kegiatan tahunan yang berisi lomba-lomba, diantaranya Lomba Khatabah Arabyyah dan Lomba Tartil Al-Qur’an tingkat nasional, serta Lomba Ghina’ Araby tingkat internasional. Dengan terselenggaranya acara ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kecintaan para mahasiswa terhadap bahasa, seni, dan sastra arab serta meningkatkan pengetahuan, kreativitas, dan produktifitas dengan menyatukan kreasi-kreasi mereka dalam satu kegiatan Mahrojan Araby XVI.

The results of the implementation of Mahrojan Arabi XVI activities are by the benefits that have been described. Students will gain precious experience and increase the solidarity of students of the Department of Arabic Language, State University of Malang, with students from home and abroad. In addition, this activity helps and introduces DBA students or students from home and overseas to the fields of Arabic language competitions at the national and international levels. This year, Mahrojan Araby contains an International Seminar as well as competitions that can be followed by students both from DBA itself or domestic and international students who want to participate in various competitions, including Khatabah Arabiyyah, Tartil Al-Qur’an and Ghina’ Araby competitions. In addition, this activity has provided opportunities for students to achieve achievements that are very important to support the accreditation of the Study Program and the accomplishment of SKPI (Certificate of Diploma Companion).
