HMD Arabic Literature FS UM Holds SEBUL and JUBER as a Form of Concern for Orphans

Not all children have received the same rights in this more modern era. Many children who are still toddlers or already teenagers have to feel a lot of deprivation and are separated from their families. Some have to live in orphanages and need more attention in age development. Therefore, students of the Arabic Literature Department Association of the Faculty of Letters, University of Malang (HMDFS UM) created a place to share with them. The activity, which was carried out directly at the orphanage, was conceptualized as giving donations in the form of money, stationery, clothes, and necessities that had been collected long before the activity was carried out and breaking the fast together and delivering Arabic learning material by the management of HMD Arabic Literature. Sedekah Bulan Ramadhan (Sebul) & Jum’at Berkah (Jumber) with the theme “Ramadan is a Place to Share and Inspire,” which is expected to be an alternative forum for realizing students who have a high social spirit and can always help ease the burden on people who are still in need. This activity was held on April 22, 2022.

The objectives of holding Sedekah Bulan Ramadhan (Sebul) & Jum’at Berkah (Jumber) include fostering the social spirit of Arabic Literature Department students, providing donations to orphans in orphanages, and increasing knowledge for orphans in orphanages. The benefits of Ramadan Alms (Sebul) & Friday Blessings (Jumber) are that we have a place to share and provide donations to orphans. In addition, the committee can convey knowledge about Arabic to orphans so that they can add new knowledge that was not learned before.

The target of the Ramadan Alms (Sebul) & Jum’at Berkah (Jumber) activities are the orphans of the Mawaddah Warohmah orphanage, totaling 45 children. It was held offline at the Mawaddah Warohmah Orphanage Hall in Malang.
