Thousands of Participants from 50 Countries Join Arabic Language Conference at UM
Department of Arabic Literature, Faculty of Letters (DSA-FS) State University of Malang (UM) held the International Conference for Arabic Festival (INCAFA) (25/6). As the closing of the XVI Mahrajan Arabi competition, the event was attended by 2,415 participants from 50 countries. Also present to give a speech in this activity, Prof Dr. Yusuf Hanafi MFilI as a representative of the UM Faculty of Letters. As well as the chairman of the International Association of Universities (International Union of Universities) based in Turkey, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khair Al Ghabbani.
The Chairperson of DSA FS UM, Dr. Hanik Mahliatussikah SAg MHum, conveyed that the participants’ enthusiasm showed that study program partners already knew the UM Arabic Language Education (PBA) study program from abroad. Moreover, PBA has been accredited Superior and internationally accredited AQAS. “This is inseparable from DSA’s involvement in the international arena, namely becoming a member of the International Association of Arabic Majors in 2020. Also, as the only central board of the International Association of Arabic majors from Indonesia and representing the Asian region,” he explained.
For information, the Chairperson of DSA FS UM, Dr. Hanik Mahliatussikah SAg MHum, is currently also on the central board of the International Association of Arabic Language Majors in the field of accreditation and quality assurance and the lot of Arabic for non-Arabic speakers. Not only that, but Hanik is also a member of the International Assembly of Arabic journals representing Indonesia, all of which are under the International Assembly of Arabic language (al majlis ad daily lil lug hah al Arabiya) based in Lebanon.
