Research collaboration and joint teaching programs with the University of Auckland and Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand
This activity is a Research collaboration and joint teaching program carried out by a team of lecturers consisting of representatives of the Faculty of Letters, State University of Malang, Prof. Dr. Yusuf Hanafi, S.Ag, M.Fil.I and representatives of the English Department, Dr. Suharyadi, S.Pd., M.Pd. This activity aims to explore opportunities and follow up collaborations in research and joint teaching and Double Degree programs with the University of Auckland and Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. The lecturer team left for Wellington to visit the two universities for five days, from November 20-25, 2022.
During this activity, UM delegates have more knowledge and experience in terms of academic development, especially culture, language, and performance. For UM, the development of cooperation in implementing Tridharma with the University of Auckland and Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, has become more concrete and developed.

During the activity, the delegation team attended several presentations and discussions, including a presentation on International Education and Social Work by Professor Marek Tesar, Associate Dean of the University of Auckland, a meeting with the Director of the international office of the University of Auckland, a presentation and discussion with the Director of the School of Linguistics & Applied Language Studies Victoria University of Wellington by Peter Yongqi Gu, Ph.D. Deputy Dean Prof. Yusuf Hanafi also gave presentations on the Faculty of Letters at the two Universities, and discussions of potential cooperation at the Department level were also conducted by Dr. Suharyadi. Prof. Yusuf Hanafi and Dr. Suharyadi also conducted a Sharing Session on Double Degree 2 plus 2 activities with the University of Auckland.

The results of this activity will be followed up by making a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) or Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) and Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with the University of Auckland and Victoria University of Wellington further discussions related to strengthening programs for lecturers of the Department of English Literature FS UM in conducting PPG training, part of Dr TPD in the form of workshops or others, including seminars on academic writing and the English as a Medium of Instruction program.

The FS UM delegation also had the opportunity to tour in the form of a time in the city of Wellington, the University of Auckland, and the Victoria University of Wellington Tour, and visit Te Papa Museum Wellington and Seagate before leaving for Indonesia.
